Genny Angels Association was born in Savona during a night spent with friends, sitting around a table with a good bottle of wine. Paolo Badano, Enrico Migliore, and Luigi Passacantando were talking about how Segway, a technology which wasn't conceived for disability, radically improved Paolo's life, disabled for over twenty years, after it had been implemented.

The three friends started to think that most associations and foundations had been focusing their mission on crowfunding for scientific research, which aim is principally to solve the problem of disability by means of medicine for the purposes of walking again. Otherwise, they focused on the assistance of the disabled person and their families. These activities are certainly praiseworthy and worth following, but it is a matter of fact that almost nobody strives for the resolution of the immediate problems of disability: mobility and monotony. These two things are essential for a person with disability and the only way out for integration and inclusion.

For these reasons, it is only thecnology that can help people's lives in the short term, and not medicine. So, why not think about an Association whith the clear aim of bringing current techologies to disability?

Our planet is full of incredible technologies which, if rethought and adapted to disability, could help millions of people to live a better life not only in the future, but today!

We could make the mistake of thinking that many resources are being applied to robotic technology,such as the exoskeleton for instance, but it is widely known that we are dealing with a technology which is not ready yet, and for many years there won't be a valid solution for a person who sits in wheelchair.

It is fair to say that we can't do this all alone, and this is where the idea of putting ourselves out there with a non-profit project was born. We want to help people to be happier right now, and not to let them just hope for a better future.
